PATRICIA LIGHT Pat Light died unexpectedly on Sunday, June 3, 2018 in her 87th year. Left to survive Pat are her sister-in-law, Ina Light; nephew, Garth Light (Mylene Finch-Field); nieces, Laurie Light (Gary Downs) and Lisa Light (Darren Oryniak); great-nephews and nieces, Tom and Todd Light, Julie, Derek and Weston Oryniak, and Patrick and Natalie Boulay. She was predeceased by her parents, Alf and Irene Light; brother, Ron, and her dear friends, Joyce Chmelnicki and Verla Douglas. Pat was born in Winnipeg on August 16, 1931. She attended Cecil Rhodes and Daniel McIntyre schools. She began her working career at Huggard Equipment. Pat's next and final career move was to Moore Business Forms where she stayed until her retirement. Pat spent her summers at Grand Beach, which she fell in love with at an early age. The family cottage at 4 - 5th Avenue was her home away from home and she spent every summer there. Grand Beach was the place where Pat enjoyed spending time with family and friends - from soaking up the sun, to taking part in community events, to the numerous parties with the Grand Beach gang which included brother Ron's family, the Robsons, the Proctors, the Chmelnickis, the Astles, and her favourite cousin Bob Light and his family. Another of Pat's great joys in life was the lifelong friendships she made through the "Stitch and Bitch" club. Surviving members who will miss Pat are Betty Hird, Aileen Light, Connie McLeod, Joyce DeVrieze, and sister-in-law, Ina. Pat has joined Joyce Chmelnicki, Marge Chisholm and Pat Hopkins where she will be leading the cheers for the Winnipeg Jets and the Blue Bombers. We know that Pat will miss watching her favourite sport on television - curling. Pat will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A celebration of her life will be held in July. If desired, donations in Pat's memory can be made to the St. Amant Centre. Wojcik's Funeral Chapels & Crematoriums, 1020 Main Street, Winnipeg, 204.586.8668 www.wojciksfuneralchapel.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I was saddened to read of Pat's passing. I knew her from MBF and she was always so pleasant to deal with in her responsibilities as "the credit check gal". She was also always active at Moore social functions and just a very nice person. She had a favourite name for me which used to make me grind my teeth ( ood naturedly of course) Georgie 👦 - Posted by: George Glenday (Friend from workI was sorry) on: Jun 13, 2018
