Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGRANT SMITH November 24, 1967 - June 7, 2018 It is with profound sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Grant Allen Smith of Winnipeg, Manitoba, on June 7, 2018. Predeceased by his grandparents, Marie and Garnet Smith, Grace and Earle Graham. Grant is survived by his parents, Allen and Carole Smith, brother Scott, sister Sherri (Tara), niece Rowan, and nephews, Kane and Shepherd. He will be forever missed by his many uncles and aunts, cousins, friends, and Sherry and Mathew Ellis. Grant grew up in St. James. He attended John Taylor High School, Red River College and the University of Manitoba. He was a fun-loving man with a hard exterior, a soft heart, and a great sense of humour. He had a love of animals, travel, football, hockey and hot sauce. He always kept his door open to others in need. As an accomplished professional accountant, he took intense pride in his work and nothing thrilled him more than tax season. Grant always sought the light and could bring about laughter in life's darkest moments. Thank you to Grace Hospital emergency and Intensive Care Unit departments for their care and compassion. To the Smith family, I'm so sorry to hear of Grant's passing. Although I hadn't seen him in many years I do remember when we were all kids, hanging out and he always took on the role of the big brother. I can picture his smile and remember his laugh. From our family to yours, our deepest condolences. - Posted by: Leslie Abbott (Family friend) on: Jun 19, 2018

I met Grant way back while we were both employed at Carlson. His laugh was the first thing that drew me to him. Over the years we stayed connected. He did our income tax for many years. Even after we moved to Alberta he would still call occasionally. Sorry for your loss. The Bomber and Jets games will be a bit quieter now, without him there. - Posted by: debbie rettaler (prev. co worker and friend) on: Jun 16, 2018

Carol and family, please accept my sincere condolences on this very untimely passing of your oldest child. This comes from me and both of my children. Sue got to know Grant personally a number of years ago and often told me what a wonderful person he was. Although this will always be a hurt in your heart I hope eventually you will take solace in his wonderful qualities who made folks like and love him. - Posted by: Patricia Wachs (Neighbour ) on: Jun 09, 2018
