ELIZABETH ADAMS STUDNEY (nee MCPHERSON) July 24, 1926 - May 26, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Studney on May 26, 2018. She was our beloved mother, grandmother and aunt. She was predeceased by her husband, Lorne in 2005, and her dear sister, Mary Daniels in 2007. Remaining to cherish her memory are sons, Robert, James (Alice) and Douglas; daughters, Shirley (Kathy) and Kathy (Victor); four much loved grandchildren, Laura, Glenn, Eric and Matthew; niece Jeanette Fabricius, and nephews, Allan Daniels and Greg Daniels. Betty had a quiet strength and dignity that carried her through many challenges. She was a compassionate wife and mother who deeply loved and supported her family. She had a long career as a bookkeeper. Betty had a lifelong love of reading, and in later years, also became an avid bridge and cribbage player. She spent many happy hours playing cards with friends at Fort Garry Place. She was a steadfast curling and Winnipeg Blue Bomber fan. She will be remembered for her love of baking which she shared with her family throughout her life. We are very appreciative of the wonderful care provided by all the staff at the St. Boniface and Health Sciences Centre hospitals. At Betty's request, there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Siloam Mission, 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB R3B 1M3. LECLAIRE BROTHERS 475 Provencher Blvd., in care of arrangements, 204-775-2220

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Bessie and I grew up together on Redwood Avenue. Although our relationship was sporadic, we kept in touch over the years, through Mary, and the girls referred to my mother as “MaTchir”. Even though we didn’t meet up as often as we wanted, we shared in our trials and tribulations of life. My last memory of Bessie, was having lunch together at the Forks, with my daughter Janis, Reminiscing our early years!! Wondering where all our Redwood gang was!! Bessie was a lifelong friend and always dear to my heart. - Posted by: Myra Westman (Tchir) (Lifelong friend) on: Aug 19, 2018
