Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEGON KURT BAUER On June 18, 2018 we said goodbye to Egon Kurt Bauer, born in Loessnitz, Germany on October 8, 1934. Beloved husband to Hildegard, proud father of Michael, Matthias (Michelle) and Klaus (Heidi), grandfather of Morgan, Madison, Stuart and Kendra, as well as uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. He spent his life as a professional painter and decorator going back to his apprenticeship in Germany, all the way through to his retirement from his thriving business. Anyone he has ever done work for will attest to his perfection to detail and his work ethic which he passed on to his sons. He will be sadly missed by all, especially his surviving sister Renate and her husband Hugo, enjoying countless hours on their property in the country. He will however be happy to be reunited with his predeceased brothers, Klaus and Manfred, and his father Rudi. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Grace Hospital and the wonderful staff in emergency and on 3 North. Mike and I met in kindergarten, such a fitting word, given its German roots. Mr. Bauer was a very honest man, never saying anything he didn’t mean, and always saying what he meant. Often, we enjoyed short exchanges around coffee and cigarettes, German meats, and breads. On other occasions, we were all glued to the tv watching the NHL, a favorite pastime for us all, and Mr. Bauer loved the game. Mrs. Bauer was a saint… a second mother really in many regards, and I believe when they meet again, they will enjoy a kitchen conversation like we all enjoyed so many times, so many years ago. Egon always did very precise, neat work in his painting. Many memories of his working on our house and farm buildings. So sorry to his family in your loss. He made many friends through his work in the Stonewall area. - Posted by: Cheryl Willis (Former client) on: Jun 24, 2018
