EDNA KUTZ It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother (Annie) and great-grandmother at Seven Oaks Hospital on June 14, 2018, with family by her side. Edna was predeceased by her parents, nine sisters, one brother, and her husband of 54 years, Larry in 2009. She is survived by her children, Valerie (Cliff), Joanne (Tim), Michelle (Grant) and Michael (Lisa); grandchildren, Andrea (Glenn), Tracy (Roberto), Brian (Tiffany), Lauren (Marcel), Christopher, Andrew, Nicole, Adam and Alex; and her great-grandchildren, Hailey and Gavin; Micah; Santiago, Isaac and Adelina; Sophie and Noah. Edna Funk was born in Lucky Lake, SK on May 10, 1934. In 1955, she married Larry Kutz and they raised four children. In 1966, they moved to Winnipeg. Once their youngest and brightest started school, Mom started work with CIBC and remained there until her retirement in 1992. She and Larry then moved to Spruce Sands to enjoy their retirement years. Once Dad passed, she moved back to Winnipeg to be with her family. Mom enjoyed watching her sports on TV. Especially curling, the Bombers, the Jets and the Blue Jays. The family wants to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care during her final days. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. A private memorial service and interment will be held at a later date. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit www.chapellawn.ca Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 204-885-9715

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • Sorry to hear about your loss Mike, my condolences. - Posted by: Bill Humiski (Uncle to Mike by marriage) on: Jun 25, 2018

  • Family and friends of Edna: I had the opportunity of working with Edna at the CIBC, 325 Nairn Avenue here in Winnipeg probably in the mid-to late 80's. I do remember what a nice person she was. She was tough when she had to be, but a warm and outgoing friend & co-worker as she generally was. I remember most about Edna was her her gift to me the green Funk Family cookbook with the most wonderful recipe in it. Tomato Soup Cake, the first time she made this for the staff at the branch, I knew I had to have it. Instead of giving me the recipe, she gave me the cookbook and autographed it "I hope that you have a great sultry day" I had not heard of the term "sultry" before meeting Edna, and that was our catch phrase. I have made this cake so many times that I could not count. I am sure that she will be honoured and missed by all of you. In memory of her I will make her cake this weekend when our kids & grandkids come for supper. Bless you all - Sincerely Valerie Warner (Mlynarovich) - Posted by: Valerie Warner (now Mlynarovich) (former co-worker at CIBC ) on: Jun 24, 2018
