MARY PASVEER 1920 - 2018 With her earthly journey now complete and her family at her side, mom was taken into the arms of the Lord on June 21, 2018. Life now begins for our loving mom and she will now celebrate eternal life with her husband Bill, her son Henry and her daughter Joanne. Mom leaves to celebrate her life, her daughter Gerty; her sons, Walter (Dana) and Carl; her daughter-in-law Donna; her son-in-law Appie (Sharon), 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; as well as her brother Hank (Gre), and many nieces and nephews in Holland and Canada. Mom was born in Holland and immigrated to Winnipeg in 1953 with her husband Bill and son Henry. Mom's greatest accomplishment was being a loving wife and mother. Even though she struggled with her own illnesses and losses throughout the years, her faith remained constant. We were blessed to have a mom with such courage and strength. She carried us even then and we carry her now with peace, joy and love. In her spare time mom enjoyed biking, crocheting and doing jigsaw and word puzzles. Mom spent these last years in the care of Donwood Manor Personal Care Home and the family would like to thank the staff for all the love and kindness they showed her throughout her stay. Thank you to the staff for taking the time to share with us many of your fondest memories and funny stories, and your hugs and words of comfort. Thank you to all of our friends and family for reaching out to us at this time, we are truly blessed. A private family committal service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Green Acres. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home & Cemetery Highway #1 E. at Navin Road, Winnipeg, MB (204) 222 3241 Condolences may be sent to www.greenacresfuneralhome.com

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My condolences Gerty for the loss of your mom. Losing a parent is never easy. Thinking of you. - Posted by: Lisa Keks (Friend) on: Mar 09, 2020

  • My deepest condolences to Gerty and family. From the first time I met Mary there was something special between us. I loved everything about Mary, her spunk, she said it like it was - her wisdom, her advice, her thoughtfulness, caring and love. We spent many hours talking, and doing puzzles, a passion of mine also. It always amazed me how Mary could do those puzzles at her age. I've been off work due to the loss of my son, and God knows how much I missed Mary, and wished I could talk to her about how I was feeling. Anyone I saw I'd ask how she was, I'd get "still Mary", I'd smile and feel good figuring I'd see her again. This was a shock. Mary you know I love you, sorry I couldn't get a hug and say bye for now, you will always be in my heart. Gerty, thank you for sharing your mum with me, I will miss her. Rest in Peace sweet lady, you left your mark on this world. Thank you for sharing your life, love, and wisdom with me. Jay - Posted by: J. Wendy Browne (Care provider) on: Jun 27, 2018

  • I never had the chance to really get to know her but remember the few visits I had with Carl. She was very sweet. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Katherine (Acquaintence ) on: Jun 27, 2018
