DWYLAH JEWEL REHILL Dwylah, born September 26, 1927, passed away peacefully Friday, June 22, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving family. Missed greatly by daughter: Meagan and Darcy; sons: Kyle (Ute), Dean and Vance (Bev); grandchildren, Sheldon, Krista (David), Cailin, Joel, Adam (Sarah), Jesse, Serena, Kelsey, Brandon and Shane; great-grandchildren, Leyland, Maddie and Riley. Predeceased by husband Jim, daughter Adriene, parents and siblings. Born in Winnipeg to Icelandic parents, Dwylah enjoyed a happy childhood. She was the youngest of six children and was the first child in the family to be born in a hospital. During her late teens she discovered her love for roller skating and became a very successful member of a touring roller skating performance team. During this time she met the love of her life Jim, and they married in 1949. Dwylah and Jim spent the next many years raising a family of five and spent many summers with them at the cottage. In 1965 Dwylah and Jim started their business NJ Rehill Transport Ltd. which they successfully ran together for 20 years. Upon retirement in 1985, Dwylah and Jim enjoyed extensive travel, many winters in Arizona and spent nearly every day together on the golf course. Dwylah was a fiercely independent, strong and intelligent woman with a keen sense of humour and a sharp wit. She learned to use a computer in her 80s and even started online banking and gaming on her iPad. Dwylah completed her daily crosswords and competitive games of scrabble up until her passing. She enjoyed her last eight years at Concordia Village making new friends and acquaintances. A celebration of Dwylah's life will take place on Tuesday, July 10 at 7.00 p.m. at Concordia Villages, Village Centre, 1125 Molson Street, Winnipeg Thank you to the staff at Riverview Health Centre 3E Palliative Care Program for their extraordinary care and compassion.
