SIDNEY TOLSTOW 1926 - 2018 On June 28, 2018, at the age of 92 years old, we lost our dear Husband and Father. Sidney passed peacefully after a valiant fight with cancer at Deer Lodge Centre. Sidney was a proud veteran and served our country in the Second World War. Sidney was an avid history buff and enjoyed telling stories about the architecture of the various buildings throughout the city. Sidney married Elisabeth Kwartel in 1987. The two were inseparable. Together they enjoyed fishing, long walks in the park with their dog Malibu and many travel adventures to Las Vegas and Sacramento. Sidney was predeceased by his father Noxin Tolstow, mother Bertha Tolstow and his sister. Left to mourn his passing is his dear wife Elisabeth of Winnipeg, daughter Suzanna Hickey-Myers (Dan) of Westlock, AB, daughter Starr Quick of Medicine Hat, AB and son Jason Quick (Paula) of Narol, MB, 10 grandchildren, Chantel, Moriah, Antonio, Skyler, Elisabeth, Wolfgang, Taeven, Randy, Ryan and Derek and one great-grandchild Melody. Special thanks to his dear friend Beverly Nord for her compassionate service to the family. Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. Interment to take place following the service at Beit Chayim Mikdash Shalom. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to Veteran's Affairs or CancerCare Manitoba.
