Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGLORIA JEAN STURTZ February 12, 1944 - July 5, 2018 Gloria Jean Sturtz passed away peacefully at Seven Oaks Hospital on Thursday, July 5, 2018. She will be deeply missed by her husband Richard, daughter and son-in law, Tambi and Steve Dalman, her precious grandchildren, Graham and Jeremy (Brianna), brother Alex, sister Donna, niece Kerri, nephew Todd and special niece Shauna (Dianna). Gloria was predeceased by her son Gerald. Gloria loved hosting get togethers for family and friends. Whenever someone needed something, she was there to lend a hand, a shoulder or offer comfort with a good home-cooked meal. If you were a friend, you felt her love. She had a massive cookbook collection. She loved trying new recipes and techniques out on anyone who was up for a gastronomic adventure. When a dinner was planned, Gloria was meticulous with her table setting. Out came beautiful china, silverware, crystal, matching linens and a lovely centrepiece and candles. Gloria's household was never without pets. Gloria provided a loving home for many pets including her own dogs and cats, her grandpets and a few strays. Gloria's life revolved around her family. Several times during her illness she stated: "I have the best family in the whole world!". She was particularly close to her grandsons, Graham and Jeremy who were at her side during her illness. In compliance with Gloria's wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, friends can send donations to the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter (petresuceshelter.com).
