CATHY D'ANDREA (MARGARET CATHERINE D'ANDREA) (nee FOLLETT) August 15, 1955 - June 23, 2018 Surrounded in the love of sons, Michael and Stephen, Cathy passed away peacefully, on June 23, 2018. Cathy leaves to cherish her memory her mother Margaret Follett; sisters, Debbie Crump and Beth Follett; brothers-in-law, Allan Crump and Stan Dragland; nephews, Andrew (with Callie Teeteart) and Iain Crump; as well as a wealth of loved family members and friends. Cathy was predeceased by her father Robert Follett in 1990. Cathy enjoyed her nursing career at St. Boniface General Hospital, the V.O.N., the Kinsmen Reh-Fit Centre and with Manitoba Public Insurance; along with a very short teaching career at Chancellor Elementary School. She would say that her favourite jobs of all were being a mother to Michael and Stephen and an aunt to Andrew and Iain. She lived with the firm belief that "Fun is good". Special thanks are extended to the care provided to her by the staff of the Health Sciences Centre, CancerCare Manitoba, the Victoria General Hospital and the Riverview Palliative Unit. Also to each and every friend who helped her in her final days with their unwavering support and endless love. She would have counted herself as lucky to have you in her life as we were lucky to have had her in ours. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21 at St. Andrew's River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Terry Fox Foundation can be made in her name and for others who fight the good fight. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • I was so saddened to hear of Kathy's passing. I last saw her at Pat's funeral several years back and we laughed and cried sharing our memories. She was still that wickedly funny person I knew from our youth. Beth I know how hard it is to lose a sister too soon; I'm sorry you are living with that pain. If you are up to it I'd love to talk. - Posted by: Carolyn (Friend of Beth) on: Jul 30, 2018

  • My thoughts and prayers are with all of Cathy's family. She was a beautiful woman, inside and out! Some people come into our lives, leave footprints on our hearts and we are never the same... Cathy was truly one of these people. I remember her upbeat, positive attitude and how important her boys were in her life and the impact she had on so many people. May the love of family and friends carry you through the coming days, weeks and months as you remember and cherish all the wonderful memories. Her legacy will love on in you. Love is forever...
