FREY November 4, 1941 - July 16, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Frey on July 16, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Michael was predeceased by his parents, Clement and Cecilia (Schneider) Frey: brothers, Nicodemus and Fred Frey; sister Helen Schmalz; brothers-in-law, Marvin Schulz, Howard Fohr, John Schmalz, Marcel Roussin, Leo Roussin, Anthony Jaworski and Don Salkeld; sisters-in-law, Bertha Frey, Mary Frey and Helen Hoffman; nephew Brandon Frey, and niece Deanna Salkeld. Michael leaves to mourn his wife of 53 years, Delphine and his children, Carol (Darryl), Stephen (Lorna) Frey and Tim (Josephine) Frey. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Justin (Tracey) Bruce, Justin Frey, Dylan Frey, Emily Bruce, Joshua Frey, Javann Frey, Meagan Bruce, John and Tyler, and great-grandchild Sadie Bruce. He is also survived by five brothers and five sisters, Frank of Vernon, BC, Gerald (Catherine) of Ottawa, ON, Fr. Joseph of Kenosee Lake, SK, Ralph (Olivia) of Wainwright, AB, James (Charmaine), Clara Schulz, Sister Theresa Frey, IBVM, Mary Fohr all of Regina, SK, Anne Jaworski of Winnipeg, MB, and Loretta Bouchard of Kelowna, BC, plus many nieces, nephews, relatives and in-laws. Michael was born in Regina, SK. In 1967 he obtained a B.Sc (Mining Engineering) from University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. Michael worked in the mining field at Grand Forks, BC and Flin Flon, MB. Michael moved to Winnipeg in 1975 and became self-employed in the building and decorating business. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff of Grace Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time. Prayers will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 at 7:00 p.m in St. John Cantius Church, 846 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in St. John Cantius Church. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
