Date of Passing: Jul 20, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIAN BRUCE CAMPBELL It is with mixed feelings of sadness and relief that we announce the death of Ian Bruce Campbell on July 20, 2018, as a result of complications due to Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was 83 years of age. Bruce was predeceased by his beloved wife Marilyn. He is survived by his sister Gail; brothers Jim, Peter (Kate) and Blair (Georgie Lee); and cousin Allie (John) Kilgour. He is also survived by his nephews Jim (Christine) and Fred (Liz) Prendergast and nieces Heather and Brenda (Kip Stevens); along with grand nieces and grandnephews Chris, Beth, Mary, Amelia, Fergus and Etta. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family of wonderful friends and neighbours. Bruce was a lifelong employee of Air Canada working in Computer and Systems Services where he maintained many friendships. As a young person he was involved in Scouts and attained the Status of King's Scout. He was also active in skiing, golfing and curling. In his midlife Bruce became interested in woodworking. In 1965 he married Marilyn Moore and together they became world travellers. Eventually he built a cottage on Fox Lake, Ontario, where they spent time during the summers. Rest easy, lad. "Slainte" In lieu of flowers, donations to the Special Olympics Manitoba or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. I think about Uncle Bruce all of the time. There hasn't been a time in my life that Bruce and Marilyn were not a huge part of it. When I moved away they came and visited us in Las Vegas and in Florida. Our son Kyle adored Uncle Bruce. When he was just a year old Uncle Bruce and Marilyn were visiting in Cranbrook and outside was little Kyle running back and forth through Bruce's long legs with laughter coming from both of them. We don't have a huge extended family but in the small group that we had our Uncle Bruce was very special. Love and light Uncle Bruce and kiss Marilyn for us. - Posted by: Carol Chabot Moore & Family (Niece) on: Oct 26, 2018

I have so many memories, as a kid Uncle Bruce was always so much fun. He loved to play with us as children and he was always laughing. As an adult he sent us beautiful wood carved Christmas decorations that we still display each year. He loved to make wood toys for the young ones as well. Uncle you had a beautiful and happy life and we are glad we got to be a part of your journey. I know Marilyn is happy to have you back with her. Lots of Love and beautiful memories Sandi and Barry Parker - Posted by: Sandi and Barry Parker (Niece and husband ) on: Oct 26, 2018

Our families have been connected for many, many years as our fathers were cousins. I remember very fondly the trips to Fox Lake as a child and the fun we had then. There were many great visits at the Campbell house too as well as family reunions at the farm. We will all miss Bruce but glad that his journey is completed and he can rest now. My thoughts are with you all. - Posted by: Liz Shepherd (family) on: Jul 30, 2018

Bruce was a great person to know and always a steady and knowledgeable Treasurer of our campers association. His dry humour will be missed. I will always remember the one chance to share “Scotch Friday” with him and his brother. Great to know that he will be reunited with Marilyn. - Posted by: Graeme Ross (Fellow cottager) on: Jul 21, 2018
