TERRY ARTHUR ALLEN
Born: Apr 10, 1957
Date of Passing: Jul 23, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTERRY ARTHUR ALLEN April 10, 1957 - July 23, 2018 It is with broken hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, dad and Papa, Terry Allen, at the Health Sciences Centre on July 23, 2018, at the age of 61. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Irene of 39 years; his daughter Melissa Jacobs (Darcy) and their children, Preston and Sutton. He is also survived by his sister Diane Prokop; brothers, Stan Allen (Sandra) and Ernie Allen (Marilyn); his brothers-in-law, Ben Graboweski (Gladys), Joe Graboweski (Lois); sisters-in-law, Vicky Pawluk (John), Angie Man (Mike Sowa); and mother-in-law Angela Nellie Graboweski. As well as many nieces and nephews, whom he deeply cherished. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Cecilia Allen; father-in-law Emil Graboweski and brother-in-law Harry Prokop. Terry was born in Edmonton, AB and was raised in Winnipeg on McAdam Avenue. He attended the University of Manitoba where he attained a Bachelor of Science Agriculture (Hons). Terry was dedicated to his career as Plant Superintendent of the Lucerne Foods Cheese Plant in Winnipeg, with over 30 years of loyal service. Terry fell in love with Irene when they first met at Fifth Avenue, Sandy Hook and they married in 1979. Terry was the kindest, most patient husband and best friend that Irene could ever ask for. They raised their daughter Melissa in Sandy Hook enjoying all that country life provided. Terry was very proud of Melissa's accomplishments and spent countless hours supporting her in all endeavours, from Ukrainian dance to her educational studies and most of all being there for her and "Papa's boys". His love of hockey, which included a Manitoba championship, gave him lifelong friendships still enduring to this day. He was a jack of all trades and his many talents included: farming, fishing, construction and electrical expertise - which he learned from his dad. He was the 'go to' guy to answer questions on any subject you could think of. He was also a "fungi" touring the country side in search of the elusive mushroom picking spots. But above all, his ultimate passion was his two grandsons, Preston and Sutton. When they were born a new light shined in Terry's eyes. He spent endless days looking after the boys playing, encouraging and enjoying every minute of his time with them. A more thoughtful and gentle spirit will never be found. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of The Lake Church in Winnipeg Beach, located at Lake Avenue and Highway 9. In lieu of flowers, pay it forward with a good deed or an act of kindness to honour Terry in your own way. Condolences, pictures and videos may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
