PHYLLIS LOLA COOK (nee RUFFLES) With sadness the family announces the passing of Phyllis on July 27, 2018, at the age of 82. Phyllis was born in Eriksdale, Manitoba on February 26, 1936. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, John in 2009; her parents, Percy and Lylla Ruffles; sister-in-law Edith Smith and husband Peter; and brother-in-law Joseph Leduc. She will be dearly missed by her children, Edward (Karen), Agnes (Larry) Giesbrecht, grandchildren, Ryan and Caitlin; Harvey (Heather), grandchildren, Ian, Leroy and Annie; George (Roxanne), grandchildren, Madison and Amber; as well as her sister Dallys Leduc and niece Marianne Smith. A celebration of Phyllis' life will be held on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at OakBank United Church, 582 Balsam Crescent in OakBank. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Phyllis' memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Condolences may be left at seasonsfunerals.ca

  • Phyllis and her family were close friends of our family and we spent a lot of time together over the years. I have wonderful memories sitting around the big kitchen table and roaming around the farm. Phyllis was always a lot of fun to be around and will be missed by all.   • Phyllis was part of my life going back to Trent Avenue in Winnipeg, growing up. Later we became close friends when I married John and moved to Springfield.
