AMERICO DI VINCENZO July 20, 1938 - July 29, 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Americo Di Vincenzo on July 29, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Left to cherish Americo's memory is his wife Irma, his children, Fino (Tracy) and Marco (Maria), his grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Lia and Cara. He is survived by his brother Tony (Rosina) of Cleveland, sisters, Carmelina Fisco (Carlo) of Italy and Rosa Di Geronimo (Antonio) of Winnipeg. Also left to cherish his memory are brother-in-law Domenico Ferritto (Lucia), sister-in-law Lucy Pilz (Frank), many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Americo was predeceased by his parents, Serafino and Berenice, his sisters, and brothers-in-law, Antonietta Di Franco (Armando) and Lidia Antonini (Augusto) and his parents-in-law, Ernesto and Maria Ferritto. Americo was born on July 20, 1938 in Rionero Sannitico, Isernia, Italy. He immigrated to Canada with his young family in June, 1967. Upon arriving to Winnipeg he began his long career with Cara Flight Kitchen as a cook. He stayed with the company for 32 years until his retirement in 1999. Dad enjoyed winter vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, bowling at Polo Park Lanes, and was an avid gardener. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff of Riverview 3E for their care and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. The family will receive condolences at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, August 3, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Rev. Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow the mass in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Riposa in Pace.
