MARIA COTE (née FIFI) May 31, 1928 - July 30, 2018 With great sadness the family announces the passing of Maria on July 30, 2018 at the age of 90. Maria was born in Bruxelles, Manitoba on May 31, 1928. She was predeceased by her parents, Achilles and Amelie Fifi; her husband Bob (August, 1994); sisters, Lucy, Louise and Victorine; and brothers, Leon, Pete, Albert and Tony. She will be deeply missed by her children, Raymond (Lori); Diane (Maurice) Labelle; Sherry (Darren) Kippen and Doreen; grandchildren, Daniel (Candace) and Jereme Labelle; Nicole (Rob) Presley; Nick and Kris Côté; and great-granddaughter Raelynn Maria Presley. Maria grew up on the farm in Bruxelles. She married Bob in 1954 and resided in Winnipeg until they moved to Fannystelle, Manitoba in 1967 where they raised their four children. Maria moved to Winnipeg in 2001 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Mom was a strong woman, and although dementia eroded most of her memories, she was able to find comfort and pleasure spending time with family and friends, and listening to music. She brought joy to so many people and could often be heard saying, "I like you, I mean it. I really do." The family would like to thank Maria's personal companions (Marian, Maria, Nikki, Karen and Rosa) who provided her such great care in the last few years of her life and all the staff at the Simkin Centre - Weinberg 1. Mom we love you so much. We will always remember you. Till we meet again. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mary, Mother of the Church, 85 Kirkbridge Drive, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
