Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySHIRLEY ANNE QUINN December 8, 1935 - July 25, 2018 It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Shirley Anne Quinn, on July 25 2018. She will be forever and lovingly missed by beloved daughter Nancy (Scott) MacKay, granddaughter Meaghan (Blair) Power, grandson Quinn MacKay, great-grandson Parker Power, brother Brian (Carol) Quinn, and her nieces and nephews. Daughter of Edward Quinn and Lillian Allen, she had three brothers and two sisters. She married young and while the marriage did not last, the greatest gifts in her life came from that union - her children, Barry Edward and Nancy Kathleen. She raised Nancy as a single mother, and she was determined to work hard to give her a good life. She was very proud when Nancy married Scott whom she loved like a son, and then later overjoyed to become Nana. She had many jobs over the years that she took great pride in - from a car hop in her teens to a professional home and pet sitter well beyond her 'retirement' where she formed wonderful friendships and had many warm memories. Her years of dedication and excellence in her work as a Loss Prevention Officer at Eaton's - not an easy job for a woman, especially then - was a great source of pride for her and all of us. She always lived in Winnipeg, and was known on every street she ever lived on. You could count on Shirley having popsicles in the freezer, eager to see her favourite neighbourhood kids for a visit and a treat. She loved her family and the time spent gathered around her table for dinners or coffee was precious. Her Christmas baking was looked forward to all year long. She took great care of her home, and her garden brought her happiness. Independent and active right up until her recent illness, she took on many causes and liked to volunteer with Red Cross. She enjoyed music, books and adored animals and left a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society as a thank you for connecting her with the cats she loved over the years. We find peace in knowing she is once again with loved ones gone before her; her son Barry Blonski who was taken from her far too soon (1965), her father Edward Quinn, mother Lillian, her beloved brothers, George and Bill; sisters, Dorothy Dunsmore and Patricia Delisle, and her many dear friends. There will be no service as per request. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Shirley was so proud of you Nancy. She was always an upbeat woman and good company. I enjoyed working with her in the downtown Eaton store. We had many laughs and adventures together. - Posted by: Nia Massey (Co-worker) on: Aug 04, 2018
