Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOREEN FLORENCE BROOKS 1935 - 2018 On August 2, 2018, Doreen passed away at the age of 83. She is at peace with her loving husband Carl, who passed in 2006. She will be dearly missed by all her family, son Dean Brooks; daughters, Karen Andrusiek (Kevin), Debbie Shumski (Bruce) and Cathy Glen (David). Doreen was blessed with nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Cristal (Nick), Kyle (Chelsie), Chris (Vikk), Alyssa (Kyle), Ryan, Curtis, Steven and Lauren (Jerry). She also was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Hailey, Parker, Jocelyn and Mila. Also left to share her memory is her brother-in-law Murray; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Lorna. Doreen was born in Gonor, MB, the youngest of four children and the last surviving member of her family. She started work at Air Canada where she met Carl. She enjoyed travelling with her family and most recently her casino trips with her friend Shirley. She loved knitting and everyone looked forward to their Christmas scarves and crocheted dishcloths. She loved keeping in touch with her family on her IPad. The weekend crossword puzzles were a challenge she enjoyed. She had a green thumb and loved tending to her garden and flowers. Doreen loved spending time with all her family and was the glue that held everyone together. She was the strongest, most thoughtful person and would do anything for those she loves. She will be missed by all and will be forever in our thoughts. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. Auntie Doreen was a great person, she worked hard for her family. We used to get together as one big family, it just kept getting bigger and things change. She loved her kids no matter what!
