JACQUELINE LOIS THORKELSON June 28, 1963 - August 14, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Jacqueline Lois Thorkelson on August 14, 2018. Predeceased by her father Jack, she leaves to mourn her devoted mother Lois, and brother John, her soulmate and love of her life Fred Finnbogason, cousins, many dear lifelong friends, and former co-workers at CN Rail. A celebration of her life will be held at Johnson Hall, The Waterfront Centre, 94-1st Avenue, Gimli, Manitoba at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 22, 2018.

  • I was so sad to hear of Jacquie's passing. I knew Jacquie back when John, Peter and I were in university. She was just a teenager then and always so bubbly and happy. She, and her then boyfriend Paul, used to come in to the city to see John, and we would often all go out for a dinner together, or we would drive out and stay with the family in Gimli. I was so happy to reconnect with Jacquie on Facebook.   • Jacqueline's father, was my mom's (Joyce) brother. I met Jacqueline on several family visits to Gimli, Manitoba. She was a sweet cousin and over the years she was a welcoming hostess to any of her U.S. family that came to Gimli. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Recently, I felt as though I was with her while watching VHS videos that my father, Vin, took on their last trips to Canada. I also relived memories of her family's trip to Connecticut and New Hampshire in Joyce's photos.   • I vividly remember Jackie from her time at the old CSC on Donald Street. What I most remember is her brilliant smile, her good cheer, and her ever-present willingness to help out her colleagues.
