Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEN HARRIS Ben was born September 4, 2002. He was a perfect baby boy. He swam around in his Mommy's tummy so much that he made three knots in his umbilical cord. Ben loved his sisters, Stephanie and Hannah, and they loved him beyond belief. He was the most warm-hearted brother his sisters could hope for. Bedtime consisted of being tucked in and being told how much they loved him and how their dream of having a baby boy came true. Ben loved his Momma, he told her so and hugged her everyday. Ben had grown a lot, making him a big boy and as tall as his Dad. He enjoyed going on adventures and holidays as a family. Ben had a soft spot for animals, he adored his cat Mr. Cudlz and his dog Pretzel. He was madly in love with his girlfriend. Ben had many, many friends. He never lied, never complained, and he never spoke negatively about anyone. This year, unlike others, he was looking forward to returning to school in the fall. He was motivated to do well so that he would get a good paying job and do good things with his girlfriend. But above all else he wanted to be a guitar player. He loved music and was an extremely gifted guitarist. Playing the electric guitar was his passion. He inherited his musical ability, and an old guitar, from his Grandad Cliff who passed away in 2013. Ben played and practiced everyday past midnight, sometimes even skipping school just to sneak home to practice. We encourage people to visit his Instagram page "ben_and_his_guitar". Ben was a remarkably mature young man, always calm and wise well beyond his years. He was the best son that parents could have, and the best boy a Dad could ever have. Tragically, Ben was killed in a hit-and-run by an impaired driver on August 10, 2018. He is survived by his parents, John and Brenda, his sisters, Stephanie (Spencer) and Hannah (Jason), grandparents, June Harris, and Brian and Gail Heywood, aunts, uncles, cousins and good friends. We will always miss him and he will be loved forever. Ben will never be forgotten. There is a memorial bursary for guitar students set up in Ben's name. Google 'Go Fund Me' and search 'Ben's Guitar Award'. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Condolences, pictures and videos may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

Our most sincere condolences to the family. It’s an unimaginable tragedy. When the boys were younger, our son Anthony and Ben would hang out at our house or at his. Even taking Anthony’s younger brother on bike rides, and never complaining about having him tag along. He was always a very nice kid. We are so very sorry for your loss. Know we are thinking of you. - Posted by: Zarow Family (School buddy ) on: Aug 18, 2018
