GEORGE ATWELL January 21, 1925 - August 17, 2017 One year has passed by so quickly since our dear Dad, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa, George I. H. Atwell, fell asleep in death (August 17, 2017) after 92 years of a full and truly amazing life. Dad loved knowledge and loved to share knowledge from a seemingly limitless source, on a seemingly endless variety of subjects. Experience was another of Dad's treasured teachers: growing up and schooling in homeland Trinidad (remaining loved sister Phyllis in Vancouver and many nieces and nephews in Trinidad and Canada), studies at the U. of M., teaching at Reedy Creek and elsewhere, years of service with the Navy, and, of course, Dad's most precious life experience, some 60 years of marriage to his beloved Frances, which gave him all of us whose lives and persons he helped shape and form. And besides all of "us" Dad thrived on and nourished a large family of many friends, endearing and enduring friendships that he and Mom so effortlessly made over the decades. Yes, Dad passed away one year ago, but he, and Mom before him, have not passed away from our memories. Our love and appreciation for them both are still ever deep and still very much alive!
