Date of Passing: Aug 21, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILY (TUI YUK) LIM 1932 - 2018 It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Lily Lim on August 21, 2018 at Riverview Health Centre Personal Care Home at the age of 85 years. She is now reunited with Dad and her parents. Lily will be sadly missed by her family, four daughters, Patty (Paul) Fung, Anna (Jack) Ma, Carol VanTassel and Susan Andrew (Brian); seven grandchildren, Victor (Laura), Christina, Angela, Sylvia, Priscilla, Crystal and Nicholas; great-grandson Jacob and the many people she has touched during her life. Lily was predeceased by her husband Fook Jack in 1997, daughter Linda (Michael Chan) in 2005 and grandson Wilson in 2008. Lily was born in China. She married Dad and lived in the village of Toishan in southwestern Guangdong. Dad immigrated to Canada in 1952 and Mom joined him a few years later. Adjusting to life in Canada, Mom would work up to three jobs at one time; she was a reliable, dedicated and hard worker. She knew the value of money, savings and made every dollar count. Those who knew Lily knew she was a person of few words but had a kind soul, a beautiful smile and laugh. She was friendly to everyone she met. This spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. You will always be in our hearts. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Riverview Personal Care Home for their exceptional compassionate care. Also a special thank you to Companion Ruth who was devoted to Mom's care. Funeral service will be held on August 31, at 10:00 a.m., at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave. (across from Brookside Cemetery). In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting Until the very end. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, So He put His arms around you, And whispered, "Come with Me." So when we saw you sleeping So peaceful, free from pain, We could not wish you back To suffer that again. NEIL BARDAL FUNERAL CENTRE 204-949-2200 neilbardalinc.com

It was so nice to meet Lily when she was a resident at Riverview at the same time as my mother. Yes, she always had a beautiful smile and was so kind and friendly to everyone. I offer my condolences to all the family as you remember with respect and admiration the strength and devotion of your Mother. - Posted by: Helen Whetter (Friend) on: Sep 18, 2018
