EDITH FRANKLIN Edith Franklin passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on August 21, 2018. Edith was born in Winnipeg and moved to Charleswood with husband Gordon in 1947. They put down roots in the area and raised their family. Edith was very busy with their large yard, vegetable and flower gardens and three active children. She later worked part time for T&T Seeds and Sears. She was a member of Charleswood Horticultural Society and the Charleswood Senior Centre. After Gordon passed in 2001, Edith moved to Assiniboine Links Seniors Living and later to Tuxedo Villa Personal Care Home. She was always happy knowing she was in the Charleswood area. Edith is survived by children, Gordon (Beth), Bob (Sandra) and Ellen Jane, grandchildren, Jess (Joanne), Sarah Lassi, Avril Weir, Matthew Weir, and great-grandchildren, Wyatt Lassi, Emma Lassi, Abigail Franklin and Sophie Franklin. Edith followed family matters closely until her passing. She liked nothing more than to get news of family events and activities and loved to get phone calls and visitors. She kept up with Winnipeg news listening to CJOB radio on her headphones. She always knew the score of the most recent Bombers game. The family would like to thank Tuxedo Villa staff for their kindness and compassionate care. The family request that, in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
