IDA MAGALAS November 18, 1920 - August 17, 2018 Peacefully on August 17, 2018 with her family by her side, Ida Irene Magalas passed away at the age of 97. Ida was predeceased by her first husband Jack, second husband Billy; brother Herby; sister Shirley and granddaughter Lori. Mom leaves to cherish her memory sons, Bill (Carol) and Bob (Barbara); daughter Beth (Lorne); grandchildren, Scott (Lisa), Kevin (Arla), Leanne (Darren), Shannon (Frank), Jacquie, Brenda (Matthew), Jennifer (Lisa) and Jillian; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, Tanner, Sheridan, Devin, Danika, Bryce, Ethan, Tayelyn and Lennix; sisters, Joyce and Leah and numerous nieces and nephews. Born to market gardeners in the Old Kildonan area, Mom began farming with her husband Jack in 1940. Later she worked many years at Strell's drug store and later as a school bus driver until her retirement. Mom always loved to bake and cook. No one ever left her home without a package of special treats. Mom leaves us each with our own special memories and will always hold a special place in our hearts. You will forever be loved and missed Mom, Grandma and Grandma Ida. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Flowers graciously declined. If family or friends so desire, donations may be made in Mom's memory to St. Amant Centre, 440 River Road, Winnipeg, MB R2M 3Z9.
