LARRY YUSISHEN December 26, 1948 - August 23, 2018 It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our dad and grandpa, Larry Yusishen, on August 23, 2018, after a brave battle with cancer. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Sheree and Amanda, his grandson Hunter, and many family and close friends. He was predeceased by our mom, Mary Anne (nee Maybroda), his parents, Steve and Stella Yusishen, and his sister Vicky Yusishen. Our dad was born on December 26, 1948 in Pine Falls to Steve and Stella Yusishen and grew up on the family farm in Thalberg. After finishing school, he moved to Winnipeg and decided to pursue a career in electrical construction. He started his apprenticeship in 1969 that would lead to a lifelong career in the electrical field. It was during this period that he met our mom, Mary Anne and the two were married on October 28, 1972. Their first daughter, Sheree, arrived in 1975. The family moved from Winnipeg to Lockport and welcomed their second daughter, Amanda in 1979. Dad was a devoted and loving husband and father who worked hard to provide for his 'three girls'. In November 2008 Dad was overjoyed when he became a grandfather. Hunter soon became his pride and joy and he doted on him any chance he could. Dad enjoyed the outdoors and took great pride in his home. He was a hard worker, always helping those in the community; whether that was cutting grass or blowing snow with his John Deere tractor, or helping others with household repairs and projects. He was always up for coffee or a game of crib with a friend. Dad was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for over 30 years, including serving as Grand Knight of the Narol Council. He was dedicated to the organization, helping to organize and attend many events and functions. We would like to send our sincere thanks to Dr. Alexander and the staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for the kind and compassionate care of both of our parents. A celebration of Dad's life will be held on September 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul with Rev. Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Dad's memory to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca. Dad, please give Mom a hug from us. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenedenmemorial.ca Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111
