DOMINIQUE ROY It is with great sadness that the family of Dominique Joseph Roy announces his passing on August 27, 2018 at the age of 87. He will be greatly missed by Irène, his wife of 67 years, his children, Suzette (Terry), Gérald (Lucille), Monique (Philippe), Micheline (Ken), Robert (Alice), Luc, Martial and Patrick, his 16 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, brothers and sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Dominique was a quiet, humble, hard-working man. He prided himself on being a good provider for his big family, notwithstanding the many difficult challenges life presented him. Dad was a Jack of all Trades, dabbling in many different trades but what he loved to do the most was carpentry, just like his patron Saint Joseph. The last part of his working career was happily spent at the St. Malo Provincial Park. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who asked. Dad had a love for gardening, starting his plants in his little greenhouse early spring, and tending to his flowers and garden all summer long. He loved to gather the fruits of his labour and prepare bouquets for the house, especially the tiger lilies he gathered in the wild. Come fall, you would see him disappear in his little red truck and return hours later with saskatoons, choke cherries and hazelnuts. Dad enjoyed singing and did so for many years in the church choir and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Funeral services for Dominique will be held on September 1, 2018. Prayers at 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Malo Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dominique's name to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the health care team at the Bethesda Hospital Rehabilitation Unit and St. Pierre Hospital for the care and concern they provided for Dominique. Malgré que nous sommes partis du Manitoba et de LaRochelle il y’a plusieurs années, j’ai plusieurs beaux souvenirs de nos années comme voisins; Marcel. Et moi, Camille, je me souviens de l’amitié entre Monique et Gaby, ainsi que chanter dans la chorale de l’Eglise à St Malo.
