JOANNE ANNTOINETTE TINSLEY (nee HUNNIE) September 22, 1954 - August 26, 2018 Suddenly on Sunday, August 26, 2018, Joanne passed away, with her partner Blaine and her daughter Vanessa at her side. Joanne was predeceased by her father William, mother Anne, and brother Kenneth. She will be lovingly remembered by her partner Blaine Lewadniuk, her daughter Vanessa (Derrick), son Jamie (Tammy), William, Kelly and Carly Lewadniuk, sisters: Margaret (Bill) and Darlene (Randy), brother Murray (Diane), brother-in-law Allen (Linda), sister-in-law Shirley (Neil), grandchildren: Ethan, Jaden, Justin and Brad, along with all her nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and neighbours, and of course, her favourite pet "Murphy". Joanne was born and attended school in Winnipeg. She was employed with the Winnipeg Police Services as a call taker and a 911 operator. Her calm demeanour was of great assistance to officers attending stressful calls. After 32 years of service she retired and relocated to Portage la Prairie with her partner Blaine Lewadniuk. Joanne loved to garden, cook, read, do crosswords and clean. She loved spending time with family and relished holidays at Falcon Lake as well in Dauphin. She welcomed the opportunity to meet people far and wide. After retiring, Joanne and Blaine visited Cuba, Mexico, Dominican Republic and other places south during the winter. Joanne loved to laugh and just to enjoy life. She was always available to provide comfort, advice and guidance. Joanne will be remembered for her love of family, generosity, her resilience and remarkable strength of spirit. Family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre, Portage & District General Hospital and home care staff. In keeping with Joanne's wishes cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 2117 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
