Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY (JOAN) STERKELL Joan passed away peacefully August 27, 2018 at Betel Home in Gimli, MB. Born to George and Emilie Sterkell on January 15, 1934, she was predeceased by brothers, Albert and Harold (Joyce), twin brothers, John George and Albert George in infancy, sisters, Millie (George) Hallmuth, Molly (Emil) Toma and Elsie; niece Patricia (Zennon) Odut and great-niece Kim. She had been a longtime member of St. Luke's Lutheran church and was church treasurer for many years. Joan retired from Winnipeg's Health Sciences Centre in 1994 and moved permanently to her beloved spot in Gimli where she became involved in volunteering with different organizations. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday September 4, 2018 at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg.
