MARION CIURKA September 18, 1923 - August 25, 2018 Peacefully Marion Ciurka, age 94, passed away at home. She leaves to mourn her passing, daughter Debbie; son Michael (Leigh); four grandchildren, Kendall (Carly), Taryn (Eric), Kyle, Kristen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael Ciurka; parents, John and Pearl; her sisters, Jean and Jess, and brothers, Bill and Alex. Marion worked at Great West Life as a secretary for many years. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, canning and sewing. She truly excelled at everything she touched. She had a wonderful, dry sense of humour. No one could have asked for a more loving mother, aunt and grandmother. The family would like to thank Dr. K. Heinrichs, the Palliative Care Team and CancerCare Manitoba. "We hold you close within our hearts And there you will remain To walk with us throughout our lives Until we meet again." Cremation has taken place. I send my condolences to Debra and Michael and families on the loss of Marion, my aunt. I regret to say that we have lost touch over the years however there are things about Aunt Marion that I remember well. I remember her being a gracious woman, tall and slim in stature with a very distinct voice and laugh. She also made great desserts! I send my best to her family. Dear Cousins Debbie, Michael & families, Aunt Marion Ciurka will never be forgotten. She and Uncle Mike provided my family with remarkable support when my mother suddenly found herself a single parent of three young children ages 1 through 4 when my father passed away in August, 1953.
