RICHARD TOMCZAK It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard Tomczak on August 28, 2018. Richard will be forever loved and cherished by his beloved wife Elsie, of 63 years, son Terry; daughter Barb (Grant) and their children, Kaylin (Peter), great-grandchildren, Braxon and Danae; Kacie and Karmyn; daughter Denise (Alvin) and their children, Jason (Zoe), great-grandchildren, Rachel and Andi; Steven (Chantelle); as well as his sisters and brothers-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who would faithfully call and visit. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Catherine, brothers, Philip and Casimir, and sisters, Helen, Victoria and Jean. Richard was born in Melrose on April 13, 1932 and was raised on the family farm where his parents also ran the general store. He was a long time member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cooks Creek. Richard worked at C.N.R. for 36 years and later he enjoyed 30 wonderful years of retirement. He loved to snowmobile as well as watch snowmobile races. He enjoyed dancing, fishing at the lake, horseshoes, playing washers and cutting the grass. He also liked to hunt...especially those beavers! He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching them dance or play hockey. Mom and Dad truly had a passion for gardening together. Even during his last days, Dad was still talking about his potatoes. He will always be remembered for his story telling and enjoying happy hour with family and friends. Thank you to the doctors and staff at Selkirk General Hospital for their care and compassion. A private family service will be held. Condolences can be left at seasonsfunerals.ca
