AGNES ABRAHAM (nee GRANGER) Peacefully on August 29, 2018 our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at River Park Gardens Personal Care Home. Mom was born on November 11, 1927 in Winnipeg. She met Dad at the Winnipeg Roller Rink and they were happily married for 56 years. Mom and Dad made their home in Fort Whyte where they raised their family until moving to Fort Garry in 1969. Mom was a stay at home Mom and later worked at St. John's Ravenscourt, Pitt Leather, and Pollard Banknote. Mom was very generous and helpful. She had a great sense of humour and was very witty. She was talented and creative, enjoying needlepoint, knitting, crocheting, ceramics and sewing. Mom could make anything from baby clothes to wedding dresses. All of us have been gifted with at least one beautiful afghan. She enjoyed playing crib, bowling, darts and doing puzzles. Grandma was well known for giving the best backrubs. She was a fantastic cook and baker. Her Lebanese food was out of this world! Mom was predeceased by her husband Omar, five brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her brother Fred and sister Ellemae. Mom will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her four children, Donna Wowchuk (Ed), Joanne Dunsmore (Blair), sons Randy and Murray (Linda) Abraham, grandchildren, Stacey (Marc), Lindsay, Matthew (Katy), Adam, Daniel (Tracey), and great-grandchildren, Alex, Mila, Elise and Nalia. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, September 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. Our family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks for the care and compassion shown to our mother by the staff of the Rosewood and River Park Gardens Nursing Home.
