WILLIAM RECKSIEDLER A chapter of Gottlieb and Henrietta Recksiedler's family was closed with the passing of William Recksiedler, at the age of 95, the last of 15 children. Peacefully on August 30, 2018, with his family at his side, at the Pine Falls Hospital. He was born on June 10, 1923 in Jackfish Lake. In 1949 he married Jeanne Prette. They spent the next 68 years in Balsam Bay raising a family, surviving life and creating a legacy for his family to remember. He is survived by his wife Jeanne; sons, Herb, Arther (Valerie) and Richard (Anna); daughters, Bonny (John) and Donna; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Rose, Betty, Anne, Gail and Kim; brother-in-law Richard, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson Kyle, and son-in-law Greg (Joe). Dad made a living by farming, cutting pulp wood and whatever odd jobs came along. He was a very honest man and his word was golden, his reputation was everything to him. He liked to tell stories about his life to whomever would listen no matter where he was. He was quite the dancer, he and Mom could wow the crowd when they were on the dance floor. The family would like to thank everyone who visited Dad and the staff at Selkirk and Pine Falls hospitals for taking excellent care of our father. In lieu of flowers, make a donation to a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk, MB. Condolences, pictures and videos may be left on his tribute wall at www.gilbartfuneralhome.com Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
