Sandy and his love of life and the energy he and Wanda bring to the world are unforgettable. Even though many years and events have passed and as we have been moving through our own lives, we have been remiss with staying in touch, there is still a connection. Our sympathies to you Wanda and family. With much love and always remembering your impact on our younger selves. xo, Dianne and Arne - Posted by: Dianne and Arne Hyson (Long lost friends) on: Dec 01, 2018

Hi! Mr. Smith was my gym teacher who taught us how to use a lawn mower. I showed up at his door step one day on Eveline St. with a group of youth doing a bigger and better exercise where you take a paper clip and trade it for something bigger like a spoon. I can’t remember what they gave us but I think it was a spoon or something. Thanks that was fun. I’m in Fort Guappele so I didn’t realize his passing until today or I would have joined the Friday celebration! Bless everyone’s lives who were touched by his life and heart! - Posted by: Kara Hummelt (Elementary gym teacher ) on: Sep 08, 2018

Dear Wanda, We were so very sorry to hear of Sandy’s passing. May God hold you and bring you and your family comfort at this most difficult time. Sandy was absolutely a good man, through and through. He was one of the special people who welcomed me to teaching and became a very good friend. I LOVED golfing with him! He cared about others and about our environment. I loved his sense of humour and still tell some of the jokes he told me! Please know prayers and thoughts are with you. May Sandy Rest In Peace. - Posted by: Greg Udod (Former colleague ) on: Sep 08, 2018

Let me first express my deepest sympathies to you Wanda, Neil, Alex and Anne. Sandy was a kind, generous man and a caring teacher. He was a great man because he influenced his students and his family by being a model father, coach, and citizen. I feel his loss acutely and know his memory will endure. I wish you comfort at this time. To Wanda and the rest of Sandy’s family I am sorry for your loss. Sandy spoke of his family often and was very proud of everyone. I still have my napkin holder made from an old student desk that he made me on the occasion of my retirement. We always had fun organizing sports activities and watering the trees he planted. Treasure your memories! Diane Machnee - Posted by: Diane Machnee (Fellow teacher at Happy Thought School, East Selkirk. MB.) on: Sep 05, 2018
