OTTO KEMERLE April 4, 1940 September 2, 2018 It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our husband, dad, and grandpa, Otto Kemerle on September 2, 2018, after a long and brave battle with cancer. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Marge; daughter Julie (Chris); son Mike (Jenn); grandchildren, Colby, Cassidy, Preston, Matthew, Michael and Nevada. Stepgrandchildren, Julene, Hailey and Madison. Also remembering him is Enid, Otto, Ingrid and families. He was predeceased by his mom Juliana Kemerle, in 1985. Dad was born April 4, 1940 in Budapest, Hungary. He immigrated to Canada in 1956 with his mother, aunt, and cousin and settled in Winnipeg after attending a catholic boarding school in Otterburne, Manitoba. Dad pursued a career in the garment industry which led him to owning and operating a clothing manufacturing company (NewWest Sportswear) for 22 years. Dad loved being a grandfather and enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's sports and activities. Dad also enjoyed his summer weekends at their lake home for almost 40 years, especially when he was successful at catching a fish. Dad was an active member of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church for over 40 years. He served on the Banc committee and also was an active member of Knights of Columbus. We would like to send our sincere thanks to Dr. Fatoye and the staff at Seven Oaks Oncology for the kind and compassionate care, as well as Riverview Health Centre palliative care unit. A funeral mass will be held Friday, September 7, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., at St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St., officiated by Rev. Msgr. Enrique M. Samson, Jr. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
