Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA ROMANCE July 24, 1921 September 3, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lena Romance on Monday, September 3, 2018. Lena passed away peacefully at Selkirk Hospital with her beloved family by her side. She was dearly loved by her late husband William Romance (predeceased 2003); was the loving mother to Helen (predeceased Kenneth), Jeanette (Richard) and Linda (Elmer) and proud grandmother, great-grandmother and godmother. Lena was dearly loved and respected by all her relatives, friends and past coworkers. She was born in Silver, Manitoba to Pearl and Michael Melnychuk. She was the second eldest of 14 children (six of her siblings have now passed). She worked at Promo Wear for many years and took great pride in her work. In addition, she worked hard looking after her family and providing for them. In her spare time, Lena thoroughly enjoyed gardening and attending to her flowers. She also loved to do all sorts of crafts, travelling and cooking delicious food for anyone and everyone. Later in life, Lena enjoyed her pastime visiting with her good friend Marjorie. Lena spent her last four years living at Tudor House in Selkirk, Manitoba so that she could be closer to her daughters. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Tudor House for all their kindness and compassionate care while she resided there. The family also wishes to thank the staff at Selkirk Hospital for their exceptional care in helping her stay comfortable throughout her final days; and thank you to the staff at MacKenzie Funeral Home. Funeral to be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Arborg on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Silver Cemetery. Reception to follow thereafter at Silver Hall. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Tudor House, 800 Manitoba Avenue, Selkirk, MB R1A 2C9 in Lena's memory would be greatly appreciated.
