Maurice was born in Carman, Manitoba on September 14, 1925. The family moved to Winnipeg where Maurice attended General Wolfe School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. Upon graduation, he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed in Toronto for a year until the end of the Second World War. He returned to Winnipeg to start his career, get married and raise a family. Maurice met the love of his life, Norma, at the Home Street United Church, where they both sang in the choir. It was known that Maurice joined the choir just to be near her! They were members of the Youth Group and met life-long friends who were lovingly called the "Home Street Gang". They were married in October 1949 and soon started a family. Maurice was very family oriented with most activities centered around family vacations at Victoria and Sandy Hook Beaches, as well as supporting his kids in all of their endeavours from speed swimming, hockey to baseball he was always there cheering us on. Maurice was a man of humility, faith and kindness. He was a devoted husband and supportive father making his family his highest priority. A more loving, caring, generous man you won't meet, with a twinkle in his eye, he had a sharp and quick wit, and a great sense of humour. Maurice was an avid golfer and was a member of the Winnipeg Canoe Club, he was happiest teaching his boys how to golf and was active until well into his 70s. He loved the sport of curling and curled for years at Deer Lodge Curling Club, he watched the sport to the end. He spent most of his career in accounting functions at the CNR, TCA (Air Canada), but primarily at Tees & Persse, where he served as a Controller for over 25 years until retirement. A special memorial service in celebration of Maurice's life was held May 15, 2018. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAURICE Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111
