IRENE PERSOAGE On Tuesday, September 11, 2018, Irene gave up her four-year battle with cancer and peacefully slipped away at Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Alex and Frances Persoage, sister-in-law Lois Persoage and special niece Kim Moore. Surviving are her brother Eddy, sister Alice, nephew Michael and Sherry Persoage all of Teulon, MB, niece Lesley and Robert Philippot of Stonewall, niece Kelley and Aryan Farrokki of North Vancouver, and special cousin Vivian Broder. Irene received her education in Teulon and Success Business College in Winnipeg. For several years she worked in the office of A & M Hurtig Furs, then onto CBC Radio Manitoba in Program/Production. She loved her job and her co-workers and even after retirement looked forward to their get-togethers. Irene loved discussing world current events and politics. Being a forever Liberal, she had no Trudeau complaints. As a CNN fan, she was always ready for Trump trashing. She moved to the Maples Care Facility in April and was able to bring along her huge tv, telephone and satellite radio, just like home she said, only smaller and of course she couldn't go into their kitchen and start cooking. She often said how much she liked the care givers, so very kind and always smiling. She was happy to join Barbara and Mildred in the dining room each day, because all three were on the same page. A special thank you to Shirley Patton-Penner, who for over two years, prepared delicious frozen dinners, soups, and desserts so Irene could just pop them in the oven. Funeral service will be held at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon on Hwy. 7 on Tuesday, September 18 at 11:00 a.m. with Shirley Williams officiating. Interment at St. Stephens Cemetery, Pleasant Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Boniface CancerCare, in care of Donations CancerCare, 1166-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the Teulon Museum, Box 44, Teulon, MB R0C 3B0. Good Night Irene. Sweet Dreams. MacKenzie Funeral Chapel Teulon 204 467 2525 info@mackenziefh.com

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I absolutely adored Irene. Whenever I had a few exta minutes, or maybe was a bit frustrated by something, I invariably made my way to her desk on the 2nd floor of the CBC building. And Irene was always there, ready for a comforting chat and an endless supply of candies/cookies/ all sorts of treats. Maybe that is why her colleagues celebrated her retirement with one of the best parties ever. No one deserved this more than Irene. My deepest sympathy. It was a pleasure being her colleague and friend. Frankie Glickman, Victoria, BC - Posted by: Ms. Frankie Glickman (CBC colleague) on: Sep 15, 2018
