MYRTLE RUTH HLADUN (MIDDLESTEAD) It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Myrtle Ruth Hladun on September 16, 2018, at the age of 89. Mom will be sadly missed by her children, Glenn Hladun, Valerie (Cal) Brown, Randy Hladun, Candace Derrett and Susan (Mike) Baker. Cherished by her grandchildren, Kelly (Troy), Cory, Darcy (Josh) and Hayley, as well as Tara (Nick), Michael (Cheryl), Brittany, Shayne, Brent, Jodie, Ryan and Matthew. Also survived by 10 great-grandchildren. She will also be lovingly remembered by her surviving siblings, Art, Frieda, George (Sharon) and Richard (Bernice), and brother-in-law Jim. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Mike of 68 years; brother Walter; sisters, Edna and Suzie, as well as her special son-in-law Bob Derrett. Mom was born in Grahamdale, Manitoba on December 16, 1928 and spent her childhood on the farm with many fond memories growing up. She met Mike, the love of her life and they were married on September 16, 1950. Being the wife of a military man, they travelled the world, raised five children and adapted to each new transfer. Their last posting was back to Winnipeg where they enjoyed their retirement. Mom especially loved their little summer place in Moosehorn, MB. The grandchildren have fond memories of spending many summers there. Family was very important to mom and she lived her life through her children and her grandchildren and will be truly missed by all. A special thank you to the wonderful staff of West Park Manor for their care and compassion given to mom during her time there. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. • Rest in peace Grandma. You were always so kind and I really enjoyed visiting you with my dad. I wish I would've spent more time with you. I remember as a kid being so excited to receive your cards at Christmas and going to visit you. I'll miss you. Love, Matt. - Posted by: Matthew (Grandson) on: Oct 26, 2018
