ELIZABETH MARIE WALLS (nee VICKERS) It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandma on September 18, 2018. She leaves her most loved sons, Gerald and Douglas; four cherished grandchildren, Freddie, Savanna (husband Nezih), Chantal, and Clint; also brother Harold and his family. Mom was predeceased by her husband George; three brothers, Jack, Ted and Bill; three sisters, Ruth, Jessie and Dorothy; three sisters-in-law, May, Joan and Blanche; also brother-in-law Jack Walls. Mom was born in Winnipeg on January 11, 1925. She spent her early years working at Scott-Bathgate Ltd. and at Eaton's mail order department before marrying Dad on June 26, 1948. Our mother loved to read - amassing a large library over the years. Cross-stitching and intricate crochet work gave her great pleasure as did spending time with her grandchildren. As a person who lived by the golden rule, she set an example for us to follow. And as a matriarch, family members gravitated towards her. Throughout the years, she hosted many happy gatherings in our home. Cheerful, quick-witted and funny, she could always make us laugh. Her passing has left a deep void in the lives of those who loved her. We miss you dearly Mom. At her request, cremation has taken place. A private service will take place at a later date.
