COLLEEN ROBERTA JESSIMAN 1948 - 2018 With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Colleen Jessiman, (aged 69) on September 23, 2018. Even though Colleen had been struggling with cancer, she passed peacefully and without pain from heart failure, with Duncan her loving husband and soulmate of 50 years and immediate family by her side. Colleen touched the lives of so many people, but her greatest legacy and source of pride was her big beautiful family. Colleen was a pillar of strength and inspiration for all of her family both immediate and extended and is survived by Duncan and her three loving children, Duncan (Tressa), Patrick (Alexis) and Shauna (David); her sister Kelly Crawford (Neil); and nine grandchildren, Aisha, Sofina, Draeson, Winston, Ellissa, Violet, Crawford, Jacob, and Grace. Colleen was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Margaret (Hendry) Crawford. Colleen was born in Winnipeg, MB and grew up in Norwood on the beautiful Lyndale Drive. She attended Nelson McIntyre Collegiate and then supported Duncan through his studies in Commerce and Law. Colleen always spoke fondly of her Norwood roots and identified as a "Norwood Girl" where she made many lifelong friends. Colleen was a gorgeous person inside and out. Her outer beauty led her to a career in modelling after high school, where she was a regular in local media spreads glamorizing everything from bikinis to ballgowns. She enjoyed volunteering at her children's schools and was involved in fundraising for both Multiple Sclerosis and Heart and Stroke Foundation. Colleen was best known for her ability to be perfectly put together for any occasion. Her style was impeccable, her lipstick always matched the season, and her outfits were the perfect mix of chic combined with tasteful and glam. But Colleen's true beauty was how she made others feel. She had a caring and loving nature that made anyone feel welcome and included. Prior to becoming ill, she enjoyed participating in exercise classes (with coffee after) at the Winter Club and golfing with friends at St. Charles. Anyone that knew Colleen was envious of the deep love that she shared with Duncan, it was undeniable and infectious. Very few on this earth are lucky enough to share a love so special and rare filled with passion, compatibility and overwhelming love every day. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary June 15, 2018. Together Colleen and Duncan built a beautiful loving family and taught them values and integrity through their own example. Colleen was incredibly close with all of her children and grandchildren, and the family loved spending time together any chance they could. Colleen had a real ability to develop and decorate homes for her family. She was so happy with their three family homes where they loved spending their time both together and with family and friends: a beautiful condo on Wellington Crescent, their perfectly appointed log cabin on West Hawk Lake and a breathtaking condo in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. Colleen was always supportive of Duncan's entrepreneurial endeavours, both successful and unsuccessful and never raising any concerns about his ability to succeed. In addition to spending time in their beloved homes, Colleen and Duncan loved to travel and explore the world. They especially enjoyed trips to Ireland, Scotland and England, to see where their families had come from. Colleen will be remembered as a kind and loving person with impeccable style, that always put her family first. A celebration of Colleen's life will be held Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Georges Anglican Church, 168 Wilton St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 3C3 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba in support of research for ovarian cancer. Colleen's family would like to thank family, friends and Colleen's many caregivers for their kindness and support during this most difficult time.
