MARIA THERESE LAURIN April 29, 1922 - September 28, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria, at ActionMarguerite St. Vital (Foyer Valade), on September 28, 2018 at the age of 96. She died peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves to mourn her passing her brother Emile (Juliette), her sister-in-law Marcelle, niece Charlotte and nephew Guy, her cousin Claire Jeanson, and nieces and nephews, Evéline, Louise, Gérard, Edouard, Fernand and Lionel. She was predeceased by her parents, Agnès and Alexandre, brothers, Louis and Armand, and sisters, Alma, Laurette and Lucille in infancy. Maria was born on the family farm in Dufresne, Manitoba where she resided for a good part of her life. She was an excellent homemaker with a passion for cooking especially for family gatherings. She was also known for her gardening and for her canning and preserves. Her nieces and nephews remember running amongst her raspberry bushes and hiding in the overgrown asparagus patch. She was a devout Catholic and was a member of l'Ordre des Filles d'Isabelle. Maria was an avid reader and loved travelling, especially to visit her cousin Gérard in Florida. The family wishes to thank the staff at ActionMarguerite St. Vital for their good care of Maria and allowing her to spend her stay there in comfort and dignity. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. at St. Emile Parish, 556 St. Anne's Rd. in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Inurnment to follow immediately after Mass at St. Boniface Cemetery, 917 Archibald. "Vous avez entendu ce que je vous ai dit: Je m'en vais, et je reviens vers vous.
