IAN STEPHENSON 1943 - 2018 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ian Stephenson on September 28, 2018, with his children, Paul and Laurie at his side. He showed strength and courage, facing his fears and struggles with his health after having lost his wife of 52 years this spring. We know he missed her dearly. Dad was born in Luton, England to Leonard (John) and Elizabeth (Betty) Stephenson. The family soon moved to Winnipeg where Dad grew up. He enjoyed sports throughout school and excelled at track and field. In July 1965, Dad married Mom and they travelled to Alberta, British Columbia and Ontario. Dad worked at the stockyards in Winnipeg and eventually began a 35 year career with Weston Bakeries. By example, Dad taught his children to have a strong work ethic and always provided for his family while we were growing up. He enjoyed fishing, curling, bowling, summers at Falcon Lake and spending time with his family and friends. Dad will be lovingly remembered by his son Paul (Rachelle), daughter Laurie (Lee), grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan and Sam, brothers, Bill (Roxanne) and Cam (Roberta), and sister Heather. We would like to thank Nikki and Lino at Maples Personal Care Home for the kindness and care they devoted to Dad. They were certainly special to him. Though we miss you so much, we know your heart longed to be reunited with Mom and now you can rest. You've always been and will be Dad. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Dad's name to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. Cremation has occurred and a private celebration of Dad's life will be taking place. Condolences may be left at seasonsfunerals.ca
