Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTONIO FRANCESCHETTI October 7, 1923 - October 1, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce our father's passing. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Anna (Staltari); sons, Claude (Vesna), Dino (Cathy), grandchildren, Anthony, David (Christie) and Sarah, Adriano "Ardy" (Janice), grandchildren, Laura (Cristian), Craig and Michelle (Trevor), and daughter Ines. In Italy, his sisters, Meris (Tamara) and Duilia (Alessio), sister-in-law Maria (Paolo, Pia, Lucianna, Fausto), brother-in-law Tony and Luciana Staltari (Paolo), niece Maria Febbo (Eddy), and nephews, Carmello, Marino, Marina and Gianni. In England, nieces, Loretta, Giulianna, and nephew Robert (Caroline). In Winnipeg, brother-in-law Gregorio Cantafio and his children, Domenic (Vivian), Mario, Paul, Roberto (Tricia), Anna (Tony), Connie and Tony (Angie) Zinghini. Antonio (Tony) was born in Italy (Palazollo Della Stella). He came to Winnipeg in 1953 where he met Anna, the love of his life. Tony worked very hard to support his family. In 1969, they moved backed to Italy with the family but then moved back to Canada and settled in Toronto living amongst the Italian community which he enjoyed. That is where he started to work for C.N.R. In 1972, they moved back to Winnipeg so Anna could be closer to her sisters. He retired from C.N.R. in 1988. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved entertaining and spending time with all his family at their home, always greeting them with his friendly smile. Tony was strong, kind with unconditional love and a good sense of humour. He took pride in making the best wine and Italian dishes. He loved being outside in his yard gardening, going to the grandchildren's sporting events, and watching sports. Special thanks to the staff at Donwood Manor for all the care given to our father. All their love and support is greatly appreciated. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Rest in peace Pops/Nonno, you will be dearly missed.
