CLARENCE MICHAEL JACYK
Date of Passing: Oct 06, 2018
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCLARENCE MICHAEL JACYK With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Clare Jacyk on October 6, 2018. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Joan; daughters, Jami (Shaun) and Jodi; grandson Jasper; sister Janet (Fred), and nephew Jim and family. Clare had a very close relationship with his son-in-law Shaun, and considered him to be his son. Clare loved spending time on his homestead surrounded by his tools, tractors and all living creatures on his property. He moved gently through the world and took excellent and fierce care of his "girls". His presence always made us feel safe. He had a soft spot for strays and never hesitated to give an extra dog or cat a new home. Special thanks to Seven Oaks Hospital for their loving care and the respect they had for Clare. Thank you to the "Angels with Comfortable Shoes" (nurses). We would also like to thank Dr. Olivier for being a port in the storm, and Dr. V. Dao and Brittany for their care over the past five years. As per Clare's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clare's name to a charity of one's choice. "What you leave behind is not engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others". He will always be remembered as my cousin, who was a kind and wonderful person with a great sense of humour. I will remember many 'snapshots' of him during my growing up years in Winnipeg and the attendance of family gatherings through the years. One of my favourite memories is one of Clarence being a policeman knocking at my mom & dad's door in this huge 'buffalo' coat. It was Christmas Eve and he and his partner were looking for a beer and of course my father, his uncle Bill, always had a lot on hand. He and his partner proceeded to spend Christmas Eve at my mom's & dad's while l went to work. Leaving me forever feeling protected by 2 of Winnipeg's finest who had removed their buffalo coats off and piled them in the kitchen making them look like they'd shed 200 pounds each. I have many colourful memories in case the Statue of Limitations hadn't run out and the knowledge that Clarence is no longer here to defend himself. With love and fond memories, Bill & Joan Stelmaschuk - Posted by: Bill & Joan Stelmaschuk (Cousin to Bill) on: Oct 16, 2018

Through my work in the Deputy Minister of Health's office, I had the pleasure of working with Claire on many occasions, and, he was always so helpful and such a gentleman. He always had a funny story to tell. To his family, my sincere condolences. May Claire R.I.P. - Posted by: Norma Bonnici (Co-worker/friend) on: Oct 15, 2018

Clare and I worked together in the late 1980's. My wife and I also lived in East St. Paul so we had a lot in common. I remember visiting the garlic farm one year, boy that was a lot of garlic. I always enjoyed going to the Medical Supplies and Home Care Equipment Branch to visit with Clare and listen to his stories when he was a police officer. I remember him as a kind and gentle man who will be missed. My deepest condolences... - Posted by: Lloyd Searcy (Worked together) on: Oct 13, 2018
