CLARK WALKER HICKS Peacefully, on October 8, 2018, Clark Walker Hicks passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre. He is survived by his loving wife Ivy of 63 years, son Kelly (Julie); daughter Shawna (Myron); grandchildren, Kelsey (Pat), Kevin, Brooke, Maddison and Tess; great-grandson Jake; and sister Gail (Jack). Clark was born September 16, 1932 in Gilbert Plains, MB. As a youngster he grew up in the Elmwood area and became an accomplished athlete and from his skills his proudest moment was being inducted into the Lacrosse Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. Clark enjoyed many years of golf at the Pinawa Golf & Country Club and later at the Wildewood Golf Course. For 31 years Clark worked for Air Canada in the purchasing and supply department. He was also a tireless fundraiser, organizer, coach for ladies' softball and youth hockey where he touched the hearts of many young athletes. Clark won numerous city and provincial championships from his coaching. Other hobbies included wood carving, fishing and lately watching Trump TV a.k.a. Fox News. Clark enjoyed his time with family and friends dearly, especially at his home on Lee River. Forever he will be missed around the campfire at the hunting shack in Fairford, MB. "C Dubs", as he was affectionately known as, will be remembered by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. He was the best father, grandfather, friend you could have. Clark's generosity was unmatched. Though he will be sadly missed, his memories will live on with us and never be forgotten. Dad you can rest in peace now, you have earned it. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In The Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. Special thanks to all the staff on the second floor at the Deer Lodge Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army.
