The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Brian Lindenschmidt for his excellent care and compassion, to the doctors and nurses on the chemo ward, Selkirk for your jokes, teasing and excellent care of Bud. Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • Bud was a great mentor to all health and safety activists in Saskatchewan, I know the labour movement could never have achieved what we did in health and safety if it wasn't for Bud's support, mentorship and his knowledge which he shared willingly . He touched the lives of many of us while working towards the changes to the 1993/1996 legislation which introduced new sections for the protection of all public sector workers in Saskatchewan. My deepest sympathies to Marilyn and family. - Posted by: Jacquie Griffiths (Friend) on: Oct 31, 2018

  • I had the pleasure of working closely with Bud in the early years of establishing workplace safety and health laws in Manitoba. We and others worked relentlessly to establish laws like the Right to Refuse Unsafe Work and the Right to Know about hazards in workplaces. These laws are now common place but they did not exist when Bud and I and others were organizing to achieve them. Our time spent on the MFL H&S Committee, the Occupational Health Center, the Day of Mourning Committee and other endeavors are fond memories for me and I have no hesitation in saying that Bud's selfless work on behalf of Manitoba workers has benefited all Manitoban's. - Posted by: Rob Hilliard (Friend) on: Oct 29, 2018

  • Condolences to Bud's family on his passing. May he and you find rest and solace in a life well lived. - Posted by: Rickey Keep (Friend) on: Oct 28, 2018

  • I join Susan Hart-Kulbaba in recognizing Bud's significant contribution to the health and safety of Manitoba's workers. He was a knowledgeable and respected mentor to me and to all of the staff who worked at the MFL Occupational Health Centre in its formative years. To Marilyn and all of Bud's family and friends, I send my deepest sympathies. - Posted by: Beverley Cann (Friend) on: Oct 21, 2018

  • I am saddened by the loss of Bud to our community. Bud was a wonderful advocate for the members of CUPE but in his committed work on health and safety, the workers in Manitoba all owe a debt of gratitude to Bud. I served with Bud on the Board of the MFL Occupational Health Centre and a more knowledgeable health and safety advocate could not be found anywhere. He served Manitobans for decades and he will not be forgotten. My condolences to his family. - Posted by: Susan Hart-Kulbaba (friend) on: Oct 13, 2018
