HELEN VOSS August 23, 1923 - October 8, 2018 Helen Voss passed away at the Bethania Personal Care Home at age 95. Helen was predeceased by her husband Helmut in 1998 and her mother Agathe in 1992. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kirsten and Ingrid; sons-in-law, Alex and Barry; grandchildren, David, Christine (Jeff), Signy (Paul) and Elizabeth (Adam); and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel, Isla and Eli. Born in Rosental, Ukraine, she and her family immigrated to Canada in 1951. She worked at Monarch Industries for many years, retiring in 1986. In the years following, she travelled, gardened, enjoyed many friendships and volunteered. She was an active member of First Mennonite Church. Mom enjoyed spending time with her family, delighting in each new member. She never missed a family celebration until this Thanksgiving. She suffered several strokes in the last two years, recovering enough to continue living independently until March, 2018. When her new home became Bethania, she encountered many staff members with whom she had volunteered. Mobile to the end, she spent many hours in the beautiful gardens there. A memorial service has taken place at the Bethania Chapel. Should anyone wish, donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee or Bethania Personal Care Home.
