Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID (DAVE) STANLEY WYLIE David (Dave) Stanley Wylie of Winnipeg, MB passed away October 4, 2018. We mourn the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Left behind are his loving wife, Agnes; daughters Meaghan Wylie, April and Angie Friestad; stepchildren Lou and Clinton Paetkau and Stephanie (Jayson) Cardinal; four grandchildren, Aysha, Blake, Gio and Victoria; in addition to numerous family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Ernest and Mary Wylie; his sister Shirley Grill; and niece Shannon Grill. Dave was born in Minnedosa, MB on July 13, 1941. He lived all his youthful years in the small town of Brinie, MB. He left for Victoria, BC and enlisted in the Royal Canadian Navy, serving three years on the H.M.C.S Saskatchewan from 1963 - 1966. After leaving the service he worked construction jobs for several years back in Manitoba. He then spent the next 26½ years as a corrections officer for the Province of Manitoba, working at the Headingly Correctional Institution. He retired October 1, 2008. Dave loved to take road trips with his family; often travelling and camping throughout Canada and the USA. He often surprised his favorite nieces Kathy (Fred) Neuffer and Karen (Neil) Merrick, arriving unexpectedly at their homes in BC. Dave had a passion for fishing, spending countless hours in his tin boat enjoying the peacefulness of our nearby lakes. Dave's loved companion Key-o could be found by his side for many of his last years. We say so long, no goodbyes; goodbyes are too final - until we meet again. Rest in Peace. We love you. What a great adventure Dave had. To have been even just a brief friend, and to have shared what time I did, was I time I will remember. Agnes, may you find solace in remembering how much love Dave had and gave to the life you created together. May you find comfort and joy from those memories rather than sorrow in this difficult time. God bless, Jon. - Posted by: Jon (A friend) on: Oct 20, 2018

My parents at 21 Woodlands Crescent were neighbours of Dave and Agnes for many many years. They are lovely folks. Mom and dad are now gone but I remember seeing Dave for a chat when I came to visit them. Nice man. I wish the family peace. Rather than mourn the flame ...Let us celebrate how brightly it shone. Shalom. - Posted by: Lisa Rae Minuk (Neighbour) on: Oct 13, 2018

Dear Agnes and family, As we heard the sad news of Dave. We think of how nice and helpful he was. Specially in helping with the neighbours cutting their grass and other things. Going by the house and stopping to chat with both of yous. Will totally miss you. Rest in peace Dave. - Posted by: D. McDonald (Neighbour) on: Oct 13, 2018
