MINERVA BUCKINX (nee HUSKA) November 12, 1924 October 9, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Minerva was predeceased by her loving husband Henri; siblings; and son-in-law Garry. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Cathy MacDonald (nee Neill) and Bonnie Sandberg (Paul); grandchildren Ryan Neill and Kevin Neill; Jonathan Sandberg (Brittany) and Andrew Sandberg (Chelsey); great-grandchildren, Olivia, Isobel and Alec; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Minerva was the youngest of six children born in Libau, MB, and raised in the Powerview/Pine Falls area. In 1953 she and Henri were married in Winnipeg and raised their daughters in Fort Garr. When her daughters were of school age she went to work in the medical field. Minerva's faith in God, for her family and life, were foremost. She was a leader by example, sweet and loving and always able to see the best in everyone. Her love of cats was passed down to her daughters and their families. We will be eternally grateful for and comforted by our memories of her beautiful smile and unconditional love. She will be greatly missed and always in our hearts. We would like to thank Mom's physicians for their excellence and a special thank you to the dedicated staff at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre for their kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Victoria General Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vital Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway, Winnipeg, MB. "It broke our hearts to lose you. You did not go alone A part of us went with you, The day God called you home." THOMSON "IN THE PARK" 204-925-1120 Condolences may be sent to www.thomsoninthepark.com
