GEORGE USENKO It is with sorrow we announce the passing of George on Monday, October 8, 2018 with his wife, three children and son-in-law at his side. George was born in Sarajevo, Yugoslavia and spent his early years in Belgrade. He lost his mom and his ideal family life during the Second World War and eventually journeyed with his dad and brother to Canada, arriving at Pier 21. He met his wife Lynne in Vancouver and they were married in 1960. George loved family, music, cooking and the outdoors. George leaves to mourn his wife Lynne; his children, Greg (Kathy), Grant (ex-wife Julie) and Leanne (Kevin); grandchildren, Bryanne (Ron), Matthew, Megan and Amy; great-grandchildren, Michel and Bozana; his brother Walter; nephew Alexander (Maria) and great-niece Natasha. The family wishes to thank the caring staff on 2nd floor at Concordia Place, where he resided four happy years, for giving so much of themselves in caring for George with respect and a good sense of humour. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service was held with Pastor Gerry Derksen from Concordia Place officiating. Glen Eden Funeral Home & Cemetery 204-338-7111

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Mr. Usenko was like a second dad to me.......he was always welcoming to me whenever I was over at the house. Shared a lot of good times and have a lot of great memories. You will be missed. Rest in peace. xo - Posted by: Laurie Sapischuk (Best friend of Leanne) on: Oct 22, 2018
